My little girl of 15 years was a wonderful gift from someone very special. She was a mere puppy of 10 weeks when we got her. As a Shiba Inu, she instantly became part of our family along with her brother Shiba that we gotten a few weeks earlier. After a terrible teething cycle where she ate one of our kitchen cabinets, she finally calmed down and became our protector, our friend, our little girl…
Havana loved to go for long walks and chase the squirrels. She loved to snack on her greenie treats. The outdoors, by the lake, were some of her favorite places and we are glad that she was able to enjoy that scenery.
Unconditional love is how best to remember her impact on our family. She let us dress her up for the Christmas holiday and was my best buddy when I was working at home and she kept me company.
The most difficult decision that I had to make which required an amazing amount of strength and courage was when I had to make the call to put our little girl to sleep. Being able to memorialize Havana and retain her cremains has made the profound sadness a little bit better to deal with.
