Elsie and I met through Upper Bucks county SPCA. She was 12 years old at the time. I was looking for a companion for my dog Toby. She was brought into the shelter because her owners had passed away and she had no where else to go. My dog Toby was never a fan of other animals until he met Elsie. Elsie was his new best friend.
Elsie loved to lay in the sun by the sliding glass door. She loves to go outside and do zoomies in the grass. She also had a strange habit of rolling on cigarette butts. Elsie will be remembered for her spunky attitude. Elsie touched a special place in everyone’s heart. She proved to be a fighter until the very end. With a heart murmur and kidney disease no one thought she had much time left. Her legacy is proving that age is really just a number. In her legacy and memory I will continue to adopt older shelter dogs to give them that second chance in life that they may not get.
They offer so much with their services with no extra costs. Not only will I have her ashes but I will have her foot print in clay and ink, a fur clipping and a beautiful memorial box. They understand the grief that comes when a beloved pet passes.
